Style Theory: Florals are a must have look every spring and summer, they reflect the colour and vibrancy the season's bring with them and add some much needed interest to a lack lustre winter wardrobe. This year it is no different, florals made their mark on the catwalks in so many guises from delicate floral prints mixed with frills at Erdem to bold statement prints at Dolce and Gabbana. Florals are here again and are determined to make their mark.
When I heard about Hermione De Paula's collaboration with Wallis I new it was one I would love. Hermione is a bridal/print designer known for her exotic meets English rose garden prints, eyecatching, hand drawn details using vibrant colours to make each piece stand out as a little masterpiece of it's very own. Together with Wallis they merged this artwork with some key SS16 clothing shapes; a pyjama style suit, shorts jumpsuit and mini dress to create a 12 piece bespoke collection at completely affordable prices. I love a high street collaboration , it means I can own a designer-esque piece for the fraction of the price and as stock is limited it means you will not bump into a person at a wedding or an event wearing the same.

This pyjama style outfit is incredibly comfortable, slouchy yet smart, it would be perfect for a wedding or summer event but equally it would look great on a day out with the kids. Both the jacket and trousers can be worn separately (see below how I styled the jacket) The floral pattern looks great against the tomboy cut of the pyjama top and bottoms, with the fluro pink piping and tie adding an extra pop of colour. The jacket can be worn thrown over a tee, jeans and trainer look and the trousers would look fab worn with a camisole top and flat sandals.

Normally I steer away from playsuits thinking I am a bit too old but as this one is tailored beautifully I think I can get away with it. It skims all lumps and bumps, has long sleeves (always a good thing for me) and is so easy to wear. I wore it dressed up but will equally dress it down with flat tan sandals on holiday. Need to work on those legs but there is still time!!

Styling the pyjama top over a camisole with my ancient jeans and espadrilles, this look is perfect if you are not mad on your arms (I'm not) it keeps you cool enough in the heat and looks interesting at the same time. I will be throwing this top over tees, victoriana tops or wearing by itself (although I do need a safety pin to keep it decent!) with jeans or my slouchy chinos.
So for me Wallis have come up trumps with this designer collaboration, check out the rest here, it is so exciting to see a new injection of inspiration hit a high street store, it has certainly put Wallis back on my radar and I look forward to lots more exciting designer collaborations Wallis!!
Are you fan of florals, will you be wearing the head to toe floral look this season? As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Fran xxx
