The Spring Coat Edit..

images via Pinterest
Style Theory: A Spring coat will completely refresh your wardrobe, it adds a brand new look to your clothes and can immediately add interest and colour to tired, winter looks. I love a bright Spring coat, it adds a splash of colour and is an easy way to sartorially shake things up..

Fancy updating your wardrobe? Here are the best available on the high street now..
Mango Oversize wool coat £69.99
The most beautiful colour of pink this dusky rose colour will immediately add life to your wardrobe. Pink works with so many colours, red, wine, tan, navy black and looks perfect with a cream blouse, pale blue jeans and a pair of stan smith trainers, add a red bag for a 2016 update and perfect clash.
Topshop Trench
I tried this trench on a couple of months ago, it looked fab on, it does come up big so I would size down but is a good weight and a gorgeous soft colour. It went out of stock pretty quickly the first time around so be quick, a beautiful alternative to the classic, beige trench.

Mango Suede Coat
Add a touch of luxe to your Spring look with this sumptuous suede trench. Red is really appealing to me this season, it is such an eye catching colour and again looks fab with pink and denim. For now layer over a bloack biker jacket or denim jacket in the Spring wear over a denim dress with tan sandals.
Mango Handmade Coat
Loving the rich colour of this coat, not sure why I have an obsession with red, it is seeping into my consciousness along with red trainers, love a spot of matchy trainers and coat.. This may seem a little heavy but wear light layers underneath and you will surprised but how much you will wear it in the lead up to summer.
River Island Cape Trench
The cape detail on this trench gives it a cool twist, perfect to dress up a dressed down look of a breton, skinny jeans and trainers.

Mango Pockets Wool Coat
The rich mustard colour of this wool coat makes it a real stand out piece, wear with navy now and in the spring wear with creams and pale blues, a beautiful coat.

Zara
Gorgeous pattern on this jacket, it is fairly thin so layer up if wearing it now and it will be perfect to thrown on over a white cotton blouse, denim short and white supergas in the Spring/summer months.
River Island Trench
A beautiful soft blue grey colour, this light trench looks beautiful with navy now, a navy roll neck and dark blue/black ankle length jeans and add a pair of black heeled boots for a sophisticated look. In the summer wear over slouchy jeans, a white tee and white trainers.

Asos White

A very 'fashion week' coat, this coat does all the talking so the rest of the outfit can be kept simple. Cream scares me a little, but if you are brave this coat would be so striking on.
Topshop Camo Shackett
Love that this is called a 'Shackett" that's a new one!, anyway this shirt/jacket hybrid is the the perfect layering piece, wear now under your coat to add interest, wear in the summer over jeans and a tee for a laid back, cool look. This washed colour is fab..

As you probably know I am big fan of a bright Spring coat..

My coats above are old season but hopefully above will give you a some ideas of the coats available on the high street now..it really will give your wardrobe a spring 'lift'

Thank you all for your positive comments about The Fashion Lift, I appreciate it so so much and as always thanks for reading. Are you a fan of a Spring coat, have you bought one yet? I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time Frances xxx

THE FASHION LIFT - OFF

Welcome to 'The Fashion Lift', my new blog name, I really hope you like it?! I have wanted to rebrand my blog for a while and feel now is the right time. Although I do love Schoolrunstyle, I feel The Fashion Lift reflects what I am trying to do when writing my blog. My aim has always been to give my looks, and hopefully yours, a little lift by finding key items, whether they are on-trend or core basics that will give my everyday outfits a 'lift' or fashion twist. I love a splash of colour and am not scared to wear brights, delve into trends and clash prints but I always try to balance these looks out with a dress down element.

Many people who read Schoolrunstyle commented that they are not in the schoolrun phase of life or that their kids are now older so I really wanted the name to be reflect the thinking behind my blog, that fashion is applicable to everyone, at any age, any time, it is just about balance, you can lift any outfit with key 'on trend' items and these are the items along with some fab wardrobe basics that I have fun finding.

I still do the schoolrun almost every day, somedays I make an effort, lots of days I do not but I like to think my clothes edit means that when I am in a massive rush and literally picking up clothes from my floor (I am seriously messy) then those clothes are ok and can be mixed and matched with ease.

As you can see in the photos above, my looks starting from most recent to one of my very first at the bottom all follow a formula, comfort first (I hate being overdressed), denim, a pop of colour and more often than not flats or trainers. This is my fashion maths, I love finding new key items to lift these looks, make them look a little different, current but not too young. I know it sounds a little silly but clothes (along with other things obvs) make me happy, I get such a buzz from finding a new, beautiful top or outfit. I adore looking ahead at the catwalk shows deciphering which trends will be relevant to me and which won't be, fashion is such a passion of mine and I am so glad to have the opportunity to write about it. Thank you to YOU for all your continued support, thank you for reading my blog, for your comments, for your likes and comments on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. It really, really makes it all worthwhile and believe me, I appreciate it all so so much.

So there it is, I so so hope you like it, I would love to hear what you think?? Good, bad or indifferent. The blog content will be the same as on Schoolrunstyle, lots more keys season buys and ideas how to style up outfits. I am aiming to blog three times a week and will continue posting every day on Instagram (although sometimes I give myself Sundays off, mainly for my husband's sanity!)

As always I would love, love to hear your thoughts and comments, until next time with lots of fab new Spring coats, Fran xx
