All In The Detailing + WIWT - Neutrals + A Discount Code

Morning ladies today I want to talk about detailing & the small details that transform a plain outfit into something that little bit more special. Items that lift a simple shirt & jeans combo to have a little wow factor.

I was recently asked how you could make an outfit feel special when you remove your jacket as the lady in question mentioned she always felt her outfit looked plain once she removed her jacket.

For me the key to creating a statement on wardrobe classics is in the detailing.  Whether this be a simple white shirt that has a ruffled collar or some front pleated detailing, to a statement sleeve or splash of lace.  Equally a statement shoe teamed with wardrobe basics will be a true game changer to the how you feel & look.  As will a studded belt, statement necklace or of course releasing your inner Bet & throwing on a splash of leopard print.

As you can see from the above items, I've featured some of my favourite accessories & tops that really do breathe new life into the simplest of outfits & allow you to add some personality & individuality to your look.  As always just click on the individual item for further details.

Of course not only are accessories important but how you wear your clothing.  You can always just tuck the front of your shirt in to create some interest not to mention unbutton a few buttons of your shirt & wear with a lace cami peeking through, or just roll up your sleeves - all these simple changes really do make a different to how an outfit can look.

As can colour combinations.  As you can see from today's outfit I'm keeping things nice & simples for a casual Sunday & styling some grey neutrals with a simple white shirt & using the tan accessories to create some focus & add a little interest.

Morning ladies.

Sometimes, just sometimes I like to step outside of my comfort zone, so when I spotted this Zara T-Shirt recently on their website I thought I'd give it a try.  Naturally when I showed hubby online he rolled his eyes & said he didn't think it was very me, which of course I agreed with but there was just something nagging away at me to try it.  So of course the button was clicked & when it arrived & I tried it on both hubby & I liked it.

Obviously the natural way to style this would be with some boyfriend jeans, trainers & a biker but I like the idea of styling it with some of my wardrobe classics & for it being a cheap & fun way of injecting a different look for days when I feel like being that little bit more hip & down with the kids ;-)

For it's first outing I'm pairing it with a classic wool blazer & pleated midi skirt but equally I'm looking forward to wearing it under a tuxedo jacket with cigarette pants & ballet pumps.

As I say I'm a classic girl at heart (& no I had no idea of any Ramones songs & yes I've since listened to some of their music & no I won't be coming a groupie anytime soon!) but just occasionally it's nice to step slightly outside of your comfort zone & have a bit of fun with fashion.

So anyone care to join me in this latest trend?!

Have a fab Saturday ladies - I'm out & about with my Mum today running a few errands before rewarding ourselves for a late lunch in the local tearoom, then a well deserved quiet night in on the sofa - can't wait :-)

Enjoy your day & as always I'll see you in the morning.

Happy Friday ladies.

In honour of the weekend I'm bringing out a new jumper I've been sent from Cosy Cashmere.  A stunning deep 'V' neckline that is perfect for anyone like me who loves an off the shoulder style jumper for dressing up a pair of casual jeans or teaming with a leather pencil or midi skirt for a smarter look.

As you can see from the pictures above I've layered mine with a lace trim cami but equally it would look fab worn with a simple vest top or even a strapless bandeau top underneath.  I wanted the jumper to have a slight oversized feel so I'm wearing the medium but if you stuck to your true size I think you'd also be able to wear the jumper on its own.

The deep 'V' is a lovely flattering neckline for all body shapes & as you'd expect the quality of the jumper is spot on.  As anyone who has invested in a cashmere jumper or two will know, cashmere  really does have that luxe feel about it & with the deep 'V' front & back it's ideal for Spring.

What you can't see from the pictures is that the jumper comes with a tie to prevent the jumper falling off your shoulders but I prefer it styled more simply & have tucked the ends into the jumper, although I'll probably end up cutting them off after a couple of wears.  If however, you'd rather have the jumper stay put but don't want the tie showing you could also just tuck each end of the tie under your bra straps to help it stay on your shoulders.

I've kept today's look really simple but equally it's going to look great with cigarette pants as much as it will with my Marks brocade midi skirt - like I say the options are endless with this timeless addition.

So a day of getting things done (all being well) before the start of the weekend - whoop whoop!  Not long till wine o'clock ladies - I don't know about you but there's a bottle of vino chilling in the fridge for later with our names on it.

Have a fab day & as always I'll see you tomorrow.
